Position Summary:
We are seeking a results-driven Deputy General Manager – Retail Sales
(B2C/Channel), South to lead and expand our retail operations in Southern
India. The role is responsible for driving sales growth, enhancing retail
presence, and strengthening the distributor and retailer network for cable and
wire products in the region. This position requires strategic vision, strong
leadership, and a deep understanding of market dynamics to achieve business
objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market Intelligence & Strategy:
- Conduct in-depth market research to
identify regional trends, challenges, and opportunities, including
competitor benchmarking and retailer/influencer analysis.
- Utilize market insights to refine and
optimize the go-to-market (GTM) strategy for the region.
- Channel Expansion & Sales Growth:
- Expand and optimize the distributor
network across all districts in Southern India to drive primary sales.
- Strengthen the retailer network to boost
secondary sales in alignment with company growth targets.
- Stakeholder & Client Engagement:
- Develop and maintain strong
relationships with key stakeholders, including distributors, retailers,
and influencers.
- Conduct regular market visits to
strengthen distributor and retailer engagement.
- Influencer & Loyalty Program Management:
- Drive the electrician influencer
loyalty program to expand the active influencer base and enhance
tertiary sales.
- Marketing & Brand Visibility:
- Develop and execute regional-level Below-The-Line
(BTL) marketing initiatives to engage key influencers and strengthen
brand positioning.
- Team Leadership & Performance Management:
- Lead a high-performing sales team,
including State Heads, Area Sales Managers (ASMs), and Territory Sales
Incharges (TSIs).
- Set, monitor, and analyze key
performance indicators (KPIs) to drive operational excellence and
individual district performance.
- Strategic Business Development:
- Spearhead initiatives to enhance market
presence and improve profitability.
- Identify and implement best practices to
strengthen market penetration.
- Training & Capability Building:
- Design and implement structured training
programs to enhance the sales team’s product knowledge and selling
skills.
- Ensure all team members are equipped to
meet and exceed their sales targets.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business
Administration, Management, or a related field.
- MBA or Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum 12 years of experience in B2C
sales (preferably in wires & FMEG).
- Proven track record in leading large
regional/state-level sales teams and driving business growth.
- Core Competencies:
- Strong strategic thinking with the
ability to develop and implement business plans that deliver measurable
results.
- Excellent leadership skills with
demonstrated experience in team management, performance tracking, and
staff development.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication,
and interpersonal abilities.
